Incubus saw a therapist before recording Make Yourself. The result was a more functional group. Before the band chose the name Incubus, Brandon wanted the name to be "Spiral Staircase", and Dirk wanted the name to be "Chunk O Funk. Brandon once obtained a job working in the concession area of a movie theater. He made it through training but quit when he realized that he would have to wear a uniform that required wearing a bow tie. Kilmore was in a DJ Battle Crew called the Jedi Knights in Los Angeles before joining Incubus. During an episode of "Mad TV", Incubus played "Pardon Me" as the show was rapping up and each member wore mullets, Jose put pillows in his shirt to make him look fat, Brandon pulled off part of his pants, and Kilmore had a really long Goatee. Brandon once said, "We're gonna play a show, there might be ten thousand, twenty thousand, thirty thousand people out there. But all that matters is that I saw boobies and I liked them." Brandon's mom, Dolly writes about her past lives. Brandon is quoted to saying, 'I wouldn't smack Britney because she's a girl. But, I would lock her up in a room with lots of poisonous spiders and make her think about what she has done today's youth.' Brandon once claimed that he doesn't smoke pot. His mom believed him (kind of), no one else did. The art work on the 'Morning View' cd is also a tattoo present on both Brandon's and Jose's right arm. Brandon used to have a mullet in 8th grade. Chuck Boyd often goes on tour with Incubus and films them. he once said "I'm proud of their success but what I'm most proud of is they had a dream and followed it." Then Brandon hugged his dad. Jose has been playing drums for 12 years, since 1990, but he said that since he' been playing "Air Drums" for two years before that he was pretty good. Mike says that the first song he ever mastered was "Welcome Home (Sanitarium) by Metallica. The morning view house bedrooms were distributed by drawing of names. Brandon and Mike are vegetarians. "Battlestar Scralatchtica" came about when Incubus had a day or two in the studio with nothing else to do, almost improvising. Brandon has a younger brother named Jason Charles Boyd. Brandon has an older brother named Darren. Mike's favorite bands when he was a kid were Primus and the Chili Peppers Mike Einziger once said in an interview that the coolest thing about Incubus is that Brandon Boyd has no rapping ability. DJ Lyfe was on Who Knows the band on MTV and forgot some of the names of the members of Incubus. Brandon's mom's name is Dolly Wiseman and claims to always have an instinct when something is wrong with Brandon. On the video shoot for "Wish You Were Here" she sensed something was wrong with his ear so they went to the hospital: his ear turned out to be bruised. In high school Brandon won senior superlative for best looking as well as best hair. Brandon once said that "Most of my favorite artists are women-Björk, PJ Harvey, Ani DiFranco." An Incubus is a demonic ghoul from mid-evil times who would have ghostly with women. Brandon's and Mike's younger brothers play together in a band called AudioVent. Jose's middle name is Antonio. The reference to 2012 A.D. in "Certain Shade of Green" is referring to an ancient Mayan belief that the world will end on December 23, 2012 A.D. The noises at the end of "Aqueous Transmission" are thousands of frogs that were recorded outside the Malibu mansion that Incubus recorded "Morning View" in. Mike reported that it was the most expensive part of making the record, because every time they'd come out to record, the frogs would shut up. Brandon was involved in a major car crash during the recording of the band's album "Make Yourself". Ironically, the band had just finished mixing the song, "Drive." Mike's favorite Incubus song is "The Warmth" Brandon said he cried when he watched Dancer In The Dark
