Ben met Incubus in 2001, on the Area One Tour. He previously played for The Roots. He later joined Mike and Jose in their side project The Time Lapse Consortium in April 2003. In time Dirk left/(got kicked out?) Incubus and Ben replaced him in the band. Ben brought his energenic bass lines, and his positive attitude to the band. His presence is evident on Incubus' recent album A Crow Left of the Murder, with his backup vocals.
